Is it true that if you maintain yours bodies pH level (7.0 alkaline) you are immune to disease?
Question:
Answers:
Firstly, eating acidic or alkaline foods will not change your whole body's pH. Your body will maintain an even pH level, regardless of what you eat.
7.0 is not a normal body pH. The normal pH for your body is 7.35-7.45. It's a very narrow range.
When your pH drops to 7.0 this is actually not a healthy state for your body tissues and is a condition known as acidosis (meaning acidic).
Organs quit functioning when the pH of your body goes wacky. A pH of 6.8 (which doesn't sound so bad to the average person) is actually not compatable with life.
Don't believe everything you read. If you have questions about "radical" claims such as this, always ask your doctor before following any new "extreme" regime.

A perfect blood Ph is 7.365...sooo..I'd guess if you were in the ballpark it would make you healthy..and LESS susceptable to disease..but I don't think there's any 100% immunity level.
No. You are suseptble to infection for many reasons regardless of your ph level. Your immune system is your body's best defense system. So boost that and it will help. But there is no way to make your body indefensible from disease. Even if you lived in a bubble there are hereditary factors that can cause problems like cancer. But it's a nice thought if it were true- we wouldn't have to spend so much money on research and drugs!
Not at all.. there are a million things that can go wrong with your body keeping your pH in perfectly normal ranges. Infections, cancers, fevers, the works.. they dont alter your pH.
pH is related only to your H+ion concentration, a reflection of your electrolytes and oxygenation.
As for 'being acid-eat more alkaline' - that is not true as your body has its own ways of moderating your pH - besides food. For example, did you know that if you have a very acidic pH, your body makes you hyperventilate to exhale more carbon dioxide and make your pH more alkaline? Regulating your pH only with food is highly unreliable - your kidneys determine your pH by excreting excess acids or saving acids to control your pH in a very narrow and necessary pH of 7.35-7.45. Immunity is related to your immune system, not pH. That is, your T and B cells and natural killer cells and WBCs and a whole lot of other cells that protect your body. Yes, if your pH goes out of control, you are definitely going to have problems, but you can get diseases even if your pH is normal. And some diseases dont change your pH.
