my thyroid scan came back as left side lobe cold ,What does (cold mean)?

The scan uses a radioactive tracer that is often taken up by abnormal tissue - in radiation lingo "hot" means radioactive.
so cold means no uptake of the tracer

Your scan either shows hot or cold meaning reactive to the stuff you took to make it show abnormalities. Cold means it did not react by becoming hot.
