Itching eyes? Do I go to my family doctor or my optometrist for treatment?

Question:
My eyes started itching last night, like I want to scratch them itching. I flushed them with saline solution and put a cold press on them to sleep. They still itch like crazy. The pollen counts are mild in my area and I'm doing nothing new. What could it be? What how long before I should visit the doctor.

Answers:
Could be allergies or conjuntivitis (viral). Definitely go to your optometrist for an exam. It may also be strain from work or looking at the monitor for long periods of time.

If you knew it was allergies "otrivan" works for my itchy eyes. But if you don't know then I would go to doctor, could be conjunctivitis or a number of things. When in doubt, check it out!
Its probably allergies. Take a benadryl and see if that helps. If it doesn't make an appointment with your optometrist.
I would see the GP first then he will be able to advice you if you need to see optometrist.
see a doctor it could be pink eye or allergies.
