Alavert works pretty well for me and it lasts 24 hours You may need a combination of drugs.
I use Claritin10 mg. 1X daily plus Flonase nasal spray 2X daily. The keyword: DAILY.
Works great 99% of the time.
Remember, most allergy drugs take time to work effectivly, usually about 3 days, they do not provide 100% instant gratification.
And yes, prescription drugs are generally much more effective and longer lasting than o.t.c. meds.
I've been using Alavert;it's a little better than Claritin.Benadryl is supposed to be the best, but you have to keep taking it every 4 hours. I've also used Chlor-Trimeton.Tylenol Allergy-SInus is for when you have a sinus headache;it has extra ingredients to treat pain and aid drainage. The secret is to use the medicine of your choice all day for it to work.No allergy pill works as well as they advertise. You may want to try some prescription anithistamine medications;they are stronger. I use clarinex and flonase but these are both prescriptions. You also might check to see about allergy shots which have helped me greatly.
I tried Aerius, they seem to work best.
i've had allergies for my entire life, they're worse in the summer. i recently started using the Neti Pot. it's a small pot with a spout on the end. it holds about a cup or less of water. you buy some all natural sea salt and mix a small amount with the room temp water. stick the spout of the pot in the right nostril and tilt your head down and to the left. the salt water goes into you nose and out the other side. if you do it right you should have very little or not drainage down your throat at all. you have to do it about every 2 hours if possible, or just as often as you can. it really has helped me a lot. it will be weird at first, probably make you eyes water but do it. look it up on the web Neti Pot.
it may be possible u are saying allergy is not allergy
u should consult doctor
however for allergy avil is good

Nasarel is a good prescription choice. It works fast.
For over-the-counter, you could try Sudephed allergy. If you want the real sudaphed (which works better) , and not the suphepheed pe, then you have to ask the pharmacist anbd you must be over 18. (That's because people like to extract the main ingredient from sudaphed, mess with it and make speed.)
