Cholesterol levels with Crestor?

Question:
I've been taking Crestor, 20mg daily. My total cholesterol is way down (177) from last year (222), however, the HDL is low and the LDL is high. Is my cardiovascular risk any lower than it was before I started Crestor?

Answers:
maybe not; total chol is not as important as LDL, HDL, and triglycerides, esp in relation to cardiovascular risk. you may need Niaspan and/or Omacor to lower the LDL and trigs and increase HDL

Other Answers:
You should really be discussing this with your cardiologist.
