I had a total thyroidectomy 4 weeks ago....my voice is still hoarse. When will my voice come back all the way
Question:
Answers:
It is too soon to expect it to be normal yet. This is major surgery. You should begin to notice a difference in another two to three weeks, but it can take several months to completely get over it.
Your voice may never be the same again. It is different from person to person, I also had a growth around the area and was told I may not talk again. It has been 20 years ago I still talk although it sounds a bit hoarse. I took speech classes last year to help make my voice stronger. I think most people that didn't know me before would never know. My scar does not even show.
