Breathing trouble?

Question:
I don't think that she has a disease or anything, but my sister has been having trouble breathing lately. One minute she is fine, the next she says her heart is beating too hard/fast and she can't breathe deeply. She feels the need to sit down and sometimes feels panic. She can definitely breath well enough to function and she has never come close to blacking out or anything. Do you know what it might be? Is it probably mental or a physical problem?

Answers:
Tachycardia can be contributed to a number of different things. Some causes can be as simple as caffeine, alcohol, or even a number of different drugs affecting the nervous system circulatory system, or heart muscle (I don't know your sister's history, so I won't venture to guess).

But this can be also a sign of something more serious (diabetes, or cardiac/pulmonary/thyroid disorders), so, if it continues, get it checked out by a doctor.
Sounds like an anxiety attack, get her to see her doc, he/she could give her some advice on how to deal with it or maybe some medication.
