If you have Chronic Sinus Problems and you have some Inflammation on your cheek bone, do you need surgery?
Question:
Answers:
Neuritis of the facial nerve is often thought to be sinus problem..If you can feel tenderness or soreness above and below the eye, would indicate neural rather than sinus problem. Sinus problem would be extremely painful but would not be picked up by sensory nerves of the face. There is a notch on the underside of the eyebrow, another off to the side of the nose.. close proximity to the sinuses of the skull but, that is where the nerve exits the skull.. If the nerve is sensitive to pressure, you don't have a sinus problem. But, will notice the same degree of tenderness at the base of the skull. Usually on one side more than the other.
Your sinuses can cause swelling in the skin of the cheeks. It can indicate a sinus infection. Pain killers and antibiotics.
