What Should I consider in getting a tattoo? i am diabetic type 2?

Question:

Answers:
I'm a type 1 diabetic with 3 tattoos and soon to be another one . plus i have 4 piercings. I never let my diabetes stop me from having the things I want. Just make sure that you take care of your tattoo properly and you should have no problems. All of mine have healed fine and i've been a diabetic for 15 years. Make sure to use A&D ointment. certain medications will cause your tattoo to scab over and you don't want that!

Other Answers:
You might be predisposed to infection or slow healing.
Darren Brass from Miami Ink (a television show) has type 2 diabetes and is covered with tattoos. I don't think it would really affect anything, but I'm not a doctor so I wouldn't know for sure.
Type 2 diabetcs should not get tatoo's...big mistake! You're more prone to blood infections such as gangrene which can kill you or make you lose your limbs!.
Don't get a tattoo, b/c when your 40+, you will regret it. Do you want to be a grandpa with a wrinkly tattoo. If u must get a tattoo talk to a doctor
Im sry but people with diabetis type 2 should not get tattoos you could get serious blood and heart illnesses
just don't do it. consider dying from a tatoo!
Diabetics type 2 or 1 should not get tattoos.
You have consider the risk of infections that could cause you to lose a limb and not necessarily in the limb that the tattoo is. You will also have to consider what type of ink you are using and where you are having it placed. Be extra careful and ask your doctor for a antibacterial ointment first and apply it as directed.
Good luck and take care.
You can get a tattoo but I would AVOID getting one anywhere below the knee. You should check out the place where you want to get the Tat from for sanitary conditions!!! Once you find a place where you are comfortable with the conditions & the artist choose your tat & get it. Make sure to keep the area clean after you have it done. Alot of tat places say use A&D ointment to keep the tat moist, but I suggest bacitracin or niosporin. Change the dressing everyday. Good Luck
