Can body moisturisers interfere with the protection effectiveness of sun tan lotions if worn at the same time?

Question:

Answers:
I would first take a good look at both your moisturizer and your sun tan lotion. If they contain any form of parabens, e.g. methyl paraben, propyl paraben, ect, then throw them in the garbage. These cancer causing oestrogenic preservatives have been shown to cause breast cancer in women. They are absolutely synthetic, and once applied to the skin, are absorbed and stored in the tissues, unchanged, exerting their cell-dividing influence. Also, the best sun tan lotions rely solely on reflective ingredients like titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. The highest one can go with these is SPF 15. If you buy anything above this number, you will be in trouble. At 15, 94% of the UVB and UVA rays are taken care of. Anything over 15 is a marketing ploy, and ultimately dangerous, insofar as the additional 6% of protection you get is theoretically based on adding dangerous chemicals, which upon exposure to sunlight and heat, transform causing serious ghost molecules that we don't even known the effects of, as of yet.

The best sunscreen, ultimately, is carotenoid rich foods - all the colors of the rainbow - and antioxidants from food, or food grown supplements. This will protect you better than anything.

Other Answers:
I don't believe that they cause any problems. However, your best bet would be to buy moisturisers that already have sun protection lotion in them. They are easy to find and you only have to apply one layer of lotions to your face.

No it shouldn't cause a problem unless you put them on at the same time and the sunscreen doesn't get spread evenly.

Many of the newer moisturizers have sunscreen in them so you don't need to worry about your skin drying out or burning. The best defense is to not tan! Tanning is a foolish practice made popular by Coco Chanel before people were aware of the extraordinary risk of skin cancer caused to light-skinned people by deliberately tanning their skin. However beautiful you think tanned skin is, skin cancers really aren't an attractive addition!
