can allergies to pollen make you feel drowsy and lethargic ?

Question:
iv'e been coughing and sneezing, had a runny nose,my eyes feel watery and heavy and i've have had a headache for about a week now,
i think this may be hayfever, does this also make you feel tired, washed out and drowsy ?i haven't taken any medication yet

Answers:
YES! I have suffered from hay fever my whole life, and when it gets bad I feel drowsy and lethargic with or without medication. At least medication gets rid of the other symptons and you can have a snooze in peace.

Other Answers:
yes but see your Dr to confirm if this is what you have some other things can cause the same feelings

the flu has the same symtoms, but the pollen count is the highest i have seen this year, so more than likely it is allergies, you may need a steroid, to get you over the hump of this bout of sickness, go to an asthma and allergy doctor, they are the best with this type of problem, not a regular doctor!

i suffer from asthama and all that coughing and struggling to breath real takes its toll. not only does it wear you out physicaly & stress you out mentalt ,but your body runs on oxygen[ air] and when you dont get enough yes you get run down feeling. when it gets so bad that i have to go on steroid meds. i start breathing well and feel like a kid again. i can run around all day.. but it dont last but a week or two.
