I did have hyperglycemia when pregnant but?

thought it would be fine after birth since then,I have been getting frequrent urination,extreme thirst alot especially after big carb meals,My family has a strong background of type 2 diabetes,Also does hyperglycemia turn into diabetes? THanks All:)

I am sure when you were pregnant it was thought that you had gestational diabetes, which usually resolves itself after the baby is delivered.
HOWEVER the symptoms you are reporting are classic signs of diabetes.
