14 year olds can get HPV even if they haven't had sex. Genital warts, hand and feet warts are all caused by HPV. If a person has skin to skin contact with someone who has the warts (like rubbing) they can get the virus.

If she has already had an coloscopy then she has had an abnormal pap smear. If the coloscopy came back fine then she is okay. Her doctor is probably going to want her to come back every 3-4 months for a re-pap to makes sure the abnormal cells don't come back or turn into pre-cancerous cells.
Also, hepatitis and HPV are two completely different virus. Hepatitis shots will have no affect on preventing your friend from contracting HPV. And the girl above me is wrong about how HPV is treated. There is NO cure for HPV, it is a virus and will stay with the person the rest of their life. Viruses are not treated with antibiotics, only bacteria can be treated with antibiotics. And, not every women has HPV like Riss said. A women isn't born with it, she has to contract it from someone else, like any other virus. I have had HPV for over 5 years, I got cervical cancer from it when I was 17 years old, there is NO cure.

every woman is a carrier for hpv. it is possible she has it because she is a woman. go for another test just to make sure because untreated and if it is that bad then it can cause cancer and genital warts may appear. go to HPV.com. hepatits has nothing to do with hpv.

HPV has nothing to do with hepatitis. Therefore, I do not think that a hepatitis vaccination would stop her from getting an HPV. I would question the HPV test result if she had never had intercourse.

Yes, it's possible. HPV can lead to cervical cancer though. Luckily, cervical cancer is fairly easy to treat. Just have her take another test, and if the test is positive for HPV, have the doctor put her on some antibiotics.

HPV (human papilloma virus) and Hepatitus are two totally different things. HPV is a sexually transmitted disease that causes cervical cancer and genital warts. You can contract hpv at any age, and it is the most common disease among americans today. Ok just because the colposcopy turned out normal doesn't mean she is in the clear. The purpose of that biopsy is to check your cervix for cancerous cells. Now i highly doubt the test results were mixed up because the only way a ob/gyn can diagnose you with hpv is by doing a papsmear and then the results come back abnormal. If your friend and her mother are unsure then they both need to go back and get another papsmear done. I have HPV and have to get checked every 3 months to make sure I am not developing cervical cancer. I was diagnosed at 15 years old.
Uhh...HPV is not Hepatitis.
Might want to go back to doctor to see what the real story is before anyone jumps to conclusions.
