How does it feel or look? Does it look like a regular pimple or are there lil bumps?

I get cold sores on my lip, which I believe is type II - they are painful little blisters that scab over in a few days. The scabs are rather large. They are very sensitive to the touch, and you need to wash your hands if you do because it is very contagious. Takes about 10 days to heal up and go away. It is brought on by stress, like lack of sleep or an illness. Once you have it it's yours for life. There are at least 6 different strains that I know of. Type I is the one you really don't want! Shingles and rosiola are also caused by different strains of the herpes virus.

first like a bunch of tiny little blisters on your lips, then they become yucky scabs that last for a week or so. At first they kind of tingle, and after they become scabs, they are sore. If you do have it, I am sorry. But supposedly, so does 75% of people, so you are not alone!Herpes show up on a nerve root. Usually the nodes in the groin or area close to where the break out are going to occur becomes tender. It starts out as an area that itches, then tiny blisters pop out of the skin which are fluid filled. These are painful as all get out. Then the little fluid filled blisters break and leave scabs behind. While all of this is going on you feel sort of malaise and crappy. It all takes about a week.

Only the Dr. can diagnose and tell after a lab test, what kind it is. It starts with itching, induration over the area (mild to moderate) swelling- depends on the kind, looks like a cold blisters around your mouth- if you had one( it 's very common in third world countries- but some people things it is a small pox), otherwise looks like a prickly heat blisters, contagious, painful on rupture and becomes an clouding ulcer. common in face and genitals, depends on the kind appears any where in the body (some times Fatal-deadly). At the initial stage proper medical intervention and right treatment may control, but no permanent, cannot cure as it (the virus) lives in the gray matter of the spinal cord. Maintaining good personal Hygenic inthe genital area's particularily for both male / female, may be the alternative way of prevention. Also at the early stage wash the affected area vigorusly (pls. bear the pain and burning) with good quality bath soap-not the cloth washing detergent, and keep dry all the time, if become an ulcer then apply tropically Anti-Virul oinments (If you can afford), otherwise get GENITIAN VIOLET paint-looks like fountain pen blue ink- from pharmcy and apply on the affected area gently with a cotton swab, may help. Even for your enemy-pls don't wish for it.
