Can anyone tell me why there is a straight line in indications of a pulmonary embolus?


Question:
You can spot a PE when the dressings of the patient is removed and there is a marked purple area from about the nipple area up and regular pink color line from that point down. The arms are purple as is the shoulders, head ect. A start line across the chest shows a marked color change. Can anybody tell me why.

Answers:
i dont know. but my grandfather died from a pulmonary embolism. there were no signs, he just died suddenly.
