Does anybody have a remedy for brachioradial pruritis, apart from the usual prescription drugs.?

Question:
I have tried capsicum cream and doxepin cream and tablets. None of them seem to work. The itching is now really bad and keeps me awake at night.

Answers:
You poor thing.
Treatment is a bit difficult since there are several causes of brachioradial pruritus, as you know...
Try to avoid sunlight EVER touching the arm(s).Use sunscreens as well as protective long-sleeved clothing.
And at night, use a cooling lotion that has menthol in it.
Some people find that eucalyptus and tea tree oil help, but others find they are allergic to them.
A good tablet to take is Elavil or Tryptanol (both contain Amitryptiline);25mg at night, with a Benzodiazepine.
These are all prescription drugs so you might want to ask your doctor about them.
All the best!

Other Answers:
try tea tree oil based products
tea tree oil is good but also buy lavender aromatherapy oil and mix the two together in a lotion and apply. lavender is great for ALL skin conditions and tea tree is an excellent anti fungal anti viral anti bacterial oil
It may be time for a steroid my dear...that will work see your Dr ASAP.
