hepatitis c testing is it acurate after short term contact with an infected person?

Question:
how long do u have to wait to see if you have an antibody responce or a positive test result

Answers:
Well, this hepatitis site says u can test positive one to two weeks after exposure. My ex had it and it stayed dormant for years and years and he woulda never known he had it except for showing positive on a blood test on a routine exam.. he was never sick, never had any problems from it.

Other Answers:
As I understand it, HCV, or Hep C Virus, can only be transmitted from one to another through the transfer of blood. It is not like any other form of hepatitis, meaning hep A , or B..It could take up to 6 weeks before the antibodies showed on a quanitive test. It would be very difficult to contract HCV through casual contact. You might want to search HCV or Hepatitis C to have a better understanding about this liver disease.Hope this answers your question!!
