Allergic reaction to leather watch band.?

Question: I have a wonderful watch, a gift, which has a leather band. I get an allergic reaction to it. Is there anything I can do to the band that will eliminate the allergic reaction? I know I can have the band changed, I would like to keep the original band if I can.

i have that too its the tanning or the dyes try sealing the inside with several coats of hairspray its laquer and will seal it Could it be on too tightly ? Try cleaning the inside with a mild soap. But don't get it too wet or you will damage it. Since it's new, there might be something on the inside that needs to be worn off.
