The possibilities are many, and the two are likely to be unrelated. The blood in the intestinal tract may be due to inflammation of the colon such as colitis, hemorrhoids, polyps or cancer of the colon, diverticulosis, abnormal small blood vessels in the colon, called arterio-venous malformations. Occasionally the blood is coming from the upper intestinal tract--from the stomach or the small intestine. Blood in the urine also can be due to many causes including infection, prostate problems, bladder or kidney tumors, kidney stones, etc. It would be unusual for both types of bleeding to be due to a single cause unless the problem was do to a generalized bleeding disorder.
SEE THE DR. IMMEDIATELY!

hey im a nerse and u have a GI bleed and u need to c a doctor
She MUST see her doctor. There are many possible causes for her bleeding.
If she bleeds enough, she could end up with anemia, causing her dizziness, but that might be the least of her problems.
She should not be shy about this. Doctors see this type of problem often.
Blood in the stool is a VERY serious problem and can be caused by any number of things, including a bleeding ulcer (which can kill you). She MUST go to a doctor. What if you offered to go with her to lend some moral support? Maybe that would make it easier for her to go?
I am not a Dr. but this is serious, shy or not this person must seek medical attention.
If she is on her period don't panic, GOto a Dr anyhow.
at any time if you have bloody stool(the blood is mixed in with the stool, not on the outside of it, that would indicate that it is coming from your anus) then you should go to the ER immediately. this could be something very serious. have her double check her rectal area, the very inside and outside of it, for any tears. if there isn't any, and she is still passing bloody stool, GO.
She needs to go to the doctor! She is losing a lot of blood and this can cause very serious injuries. My Dad had this happen, he ended up having ulcers on his esophugus. Probably not what she has but she is probably very dehydrated. You need to just take her to the hospital, if she is alone and gets dizzy she could fall and hurt herself or she can become unconcious and die. Please take her to the hospital or call an ambulance. You will save her life!
They're may not be any hemorrhoids on the outside but there very well could be some on the inside. BM's can cause the bleeding just by trying to pass by an internal hemorrhoid. Trust me, I know. It's always good to get a doctor's opinion because a prescription or even over the counter medication can help solve the problem.
Your friend needs to see a doctor right away. Convince her there's no reason to be shy about it. She can expect that they will take a stool specimen and have it analyzed in a lab. She may have other blood drawn too. It will relieve her mind just to know. And then get whatever she needs to "fix" it.
If she is reluctant to go, maybe the two of you could talk it over with a pharmacist? If she's still reluctant, do what you can to take her there yourself. Go with her. You may save her life.
You are a good friend to worry about your friend. God Bless You Both!
you must get her to see a doctor
This could be several different things. You need to see a doctor as soon as possible as only the correct tests can identify the cause.
Sometimes in can be haemorrhoids or a fissure ( a cut ) .but she really should see a doctor. Tell her not to be embarassed..doctors see a lot of people. Unless he has a look and does a few tests it is hard to say what is going on.
First of all, you have to verify that the symptoms are not reated to intestinal cancer. The symptoms of cancer is given below. The same can be assessed with occult feccal blood.
COLON AND RECTUM CANCER.
1. Change in ordinary bowel habits.
2. Change in appearance, size, and consistency of stool.
3. Bleeding on moving bowels.
4. Dark red blood in stools; tarry stools.
5. Increasing difficulty in moving bowels.
6. Distension of abdomen.
7.Abdominal cramps, often colicky.
8. Episodes of vomiting, sometimes of fecal material.
9. Unexplained anemia.
10. A lump in the abdomen (a late sign).
I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and if the blood is bright red and only happens when stools are passed then it may be 'piles' If she was dizzy it was because she was probably straining, this would cause a drop in oxygen levels to the brain. I suggest she goes to the Dr's,she may internal piles, you can, of course, get a cream for this condition but she will find it hard to apply herself if they are internal. Blood in a stool can also be the cause of bowel cancer she must get it checked.
