why are csf specimens taken to specific lab departments in specific order?

Question:
I am a current student needing to understand why csf goes to chemistry, microbiology, and then hematology.

Answers:
It doesn't matter in what order they go the lab, unless your specific lab has a protocol in place to make sure the specimens don't get lost.

The different labs do different things with the samples; they are not inter-related.
