is it possible to have epilepsy from birth?
Question:
she was diagnosed last summer with ep but i was wondering is it possible she's always had it she's 3 now
Answers:
yes it's very possible. most people who have epilepsy have it from birth. my son is 8 months old and was diagnosed with it at 3 months when he started having seizures. it runs in my family and everyone had it when they were babies too. besides me i also have epilepsy and i was diagnosed at 17 which my doctors say is quite odd because usually it is picked up at a young age.
so yes it is possible dear.

yep.
Yes, some infants are born with epilepsy. Your doctor will be able to tell you more about your baby's specific diagnosis.
Yes, those weird blinking and squinting times were probably seizures. Different people have seizures in different ways. When most people think of seizures the think of someone who is jerking uncontrollably. I have a friend who's 2 year old has epilepsy and when he has a seizure he just gets stiff and it's like his eyes stay focused on one thing, so she could have been having seizures and you just didn't realize it. I hope that all works out well for her and your family. I know my friend is still taking his son to the doctors so that they can get him on the right medications and find out what is really going on.
