what is the status on the AIDS cure researsh?
Question:
Answers:
Whilst governments and health authorities are still proactively seeking a cure, there are many medications that can prolong fully blown AIDS patients life. There are medicines simialar to 'the morning after pill' that can be taken if a mishap ( broken condom etc ) has occurred. These supposedly can kill the virus at this early stage. So the answer to your question in short is that there is not a cure but anyone diagnosed with HIV/AIDS stands a better chance of having a longer life than those diagnosed in the 80's. Best point of contact for more info would be your local GP that can put you in touch with People Living with HIV/AIDS support centres IE: AIDS Council of New South Wales(ACON), Victorian AIDS Council (VAC) ( Australia ).
