EYE REMOVAL. I suffer with secondary GLAUCOMA. BEEN ASKED TO CONSIDER HAVING EYE REMOVED. WOULD YOU?

I am assuming that you are now blind in this eye and it is very painful. Pred Forte and Atropine are usually used to help control the pain, however this is often only a short term fix. Once the eye is removed you can be fit for a prosthesis which is painted to match your natural eye and is very comfortable. The surgery itself is done as an out-patient procedure and has very little pain. If I was in constant pain with a blind eye I would most definitely have the enucleation done.
Well, it depends.. Can you see with the other eye good? Does the bad eye cause you a lot of pain? Could it affect anything else if you left it in? If you think its worth it do it, or if it could cause other health problems left in. If it wouldnt hurt anything i'd say keep it. Thats a hard thing to decide! I don't know what I'd do... But I wish you the best!
