What is the difference between white and yellow corn tortillas?

Question:
Just been diagnosed with celiac disease and was told to eat white corn tortillas!!! Any other info or recipes would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Answers:
Welcome to the Gluten Free Diet. You will feel much better for it.

Doctors and nutritionists still have some odd ideas about what is okay to eat and what itsn't. As for the corn tortillas -- there is really no difference between the two and it would essentially be personal preference.

As a good starting point, I suggest http://www.celiac.com . There, you will find lists of what is okay and what is not, including all the different places where gluten can hide. There are also recipes. Gluten Free cookbooks are getting to be quite common. Another good site with great info and LOTS of recipes is the Celiac Disease Online Support Group at http://forums.delphiforums.com/celiac/start

Good Luck!

I am guessing that one is made with white corn and one with yellow. Maybe white has less gluten which is what you need to avoid. Good luck, it is a tough thing to face.
