What is the scientific reason behind sun tans on skin. How can sun tans be avoided. Please suggest ?

heart problem pietent, can go for morning jog, walking, gym?

Answers:
Sun makes a tan on skin because the UV rays coming from it damage your skin causing hemoglobin (skin pigment) to burst from cells. That's what freckles are, concentrated hemoglobin. Tans can be avoided by wearing sunscreen or just staying out in the shade, or wearing long clothing and hats and stuff.

How effective is THE VACCINE ? any side effects?

Your body produces melatonin (the skin pigment which makes you tan) to protect you from UV rays that damage your skin. Use sunblock and keep yourself shaded.

Uh, Suzie...."http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemoglobin" ...hemoglobin is the pigment for blood. It's what makes blood red. Not skin tan.

Unknown Bruises?

Ultraviolet rays hit the skin and the skin produces a pigment called melanin that produces the tan. Tans can be avoided by wearing sunscreen, not going out in the sun or wearing clothing to block the UV rays.
