If I have a medically diagnosed problem, can I legally be written up at work because of the symptoms?

Question:
I have a rare genetic disorder called Trimethylamineuria (see description http://www.medical-library.net/sites/framer.html?/sites/_fish_odor_syndrome.html) that causes me to have a rather annoying body odor problem. Ive tried everything to stay on top of it, and some ways that work temporarially are extremly damaging to my skin. Ive been given a warning at work that I show up stinking again, I will be written up and have action taken against me. It seems to be impossible to get to them that no amount of higene will fix this problem, and there is no magic pill for me to take. I know that it is against the law to be discrimated against due to medical disabilities, but this is an odd circumstance. Any help?

Answers:
Does your employer have written documentation from the MD that this is the cause? If so, they cannot discriminate against you, contact the ACLU and have them write a letter to your employer, I would also mention lawsuit based on the americans with disabilities act (this condition IS a social disability, sorry), that tends to get them thinking. IF they continue to harass you about it, document everything and sue their butts off!
Get your doctor to write you something. Then if they do something you got them. If you really have this there is nothing they can do but live with it. If they let you go and you have proof you then can sue them.
