Kidney Infection? My son, age 19, had blood in his urine a few weeks ago.?
Question:
I know he needs a Dr. but unless the symptoms become unbeareable, rather than an uninsured hospital bill on his back, we need to wait for payday tomorrow to see a doctor. (he has no family doctor to call now).
I have him drinking lots of water. Out of motherly empathy, I gave him one of my 875 AMOXICILLIN. (We will inform the doctor of the med).
My question is are we playing with fire until tomorrow? And, under the circimstances, was I wrong in giving him the med? Will I cause harm in giving him another dose of antibiotic tonight?
What do his symptoms seem to indicate? Suggestions, comments please? Thanks much
Answers:
You are certainly playing with fire. Sounds alot like pyleonephritis to me. He should have seen the doctor when the first symptoms ocurred.
I am sympathetic with your financial situation but please get him to a doctor as soon as possible
maybe you could call a doctor and tell him/her exactly what you just told us and just see what he/she suggests you do for the night until you go to the doctor the next morning. really though no one can help you until he goes to the doctor. good luck
