how can does doctors asses if somebody got a herpes or not?
Question:
Answers:
They don't take a culture of herpes. Herpes is a virus, and the only way to determine if you have herpes (whether simplex one or two) is a blood test. You will get a herpes panel done. Results in two days.

They usually just do a physical exam of your private area. When I went to my OBGYN she took one look at me and said she knew I had it. I also had to go through a pap smear. Check out this link:

They take a culture and look for the virus itself under a microscope. No mystery to it.
