sis has "female" cancer. i'm scared!?

Question:
Mom died when she was 42. Same stuff. Granny died when she was 49. Same stuff. What are sis's chances now? She's 40. Are they better than in 1985?

Answers:
Technology improves all the time. Alot of factors figure in when it comes to cancers.. did you know that our bodies produce cancer cells all the time, and our immune system usually fights them off? Interesting, huh? I learned this last year.. I just lost my mom to pancreatic cancer. its a cancer thats hard to detect before its already too late.
my grandmother died of ovarian cancer (long long time ago)
she was too far gone before she even went to get checked..
ovarian and cervical cancers are much easier to detect and treat nowadays..
and being there is a history in your family, i hope your sister has been faithful about getting her paps done..
shouldnt be anything at all to worry about it they caught it early..

Other Answers:

either way im sorry and i hope that it is cured and that this disease is abolished from your family and that your family continues to live healthy lives
What exactly is 'female' cancer? You need to be more specific if you want a good answer.

Treatment options of today are probably better than in 1985. It still depends on how advanced her disease is. If she found it early then her chance of survival is higher.
