do you think its a purely financial that we have not cured diseases?

Question:
millions and millions of dollars have been invested/donated to fund medical research for many diseases.. why havnt these diseases been eradicated? except for the odd pill to ease pain and take away some syptoms- we really dont seem that much farther ahead--- and these diseases still persist-- what more will it take? more money?

Answers:
I think too much research goes into symptoms and not cures. Do pharmaceutical companies make money over the long run by curing a disease? No! So thus they find ways to treat the symptoms and not cure the problem. Just a theory of mine.

Other Answers:
I think it's not so much the not curing disease, but we definitely don't invest any money in the disease of the poor. Medicine companies purely invest in curing diseases of the rich.

Still, a lot of work still has to be done in terms of curing, but we're still have to be appreciative of the what has been done.
