Can't help with rhuematoid arthritis sorry. My gf has osteo-arthritis in her knees and Glucosamine, Chondroiton, & MSM have helped considerably. Fish oil pills can help with joint pain. Good luck.
I have Lupus and Fibromyalgia as well as degenerative disc disease and I understand your pain!I have medications for everything!!But I have to say that one over the counter remedy that truly helps me at all is called aspercreme!! It does help a great deal! I swear by it! The pharmasist recommended it to me and I am glad he did! Between that and prescription naproxen I can make it through the day and I do landscaping! Good Luck!
First of all, I'm so sorry to hear about your thumbs. I have osteoarthritis in both knees that's bad enough to keep them bent all the time now. My doctor has me take some pretty strong pain killers, methadone and percocet (for break-through pain), the only draw backs are they make me sleepy sometimes and they can be habit-forming. The best medicines seem to consistantly be the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines like aspirin, ibuprofen or naprosyn. These can be purchased over-the-counter. There are other medicines like prednisone that can be gotten with a prescription. The best advice I can give is SEE YOUR DOCTOR!
Good luck and God bless. i have lupus and along with prednisone, my dr. has me take celebrex. it has been my miracle drug.that and vicodin!
