The only way I've been able to travel with my Rx oxygen is on Continental Airlines. They seem to be only one who accomodate you. Even so they first require your Dr to fill out a form prescribing the required use of O2.
Then there is a fee to be paid for the use of their oxygen, ($100.) ea. way.

The girl who calls herself darkangel is wrong - oxygen is not flammable. That being said, some airlines don't permit oxygen tanks in the passenger compartment. They're unnecessarily afraid of fire and explosion. The saying goes "if there's a sudden cabin decompression, the oxygen tank could rupture and cause serious problems (as if the sudden loss of cabin pressure were not serious!) Your best bet is to ask about the airline's rules when you call to book your flight. A good travel agent should be able to help you with this special need, too - that's what they're trained to do!

Not unless you have an Rx for O2. Usually pressurized canisters are forbidden on planes unless for medical reasons. I would check with the particular airlines I am flying.
