I have a small white bump on my left tonsil?

Question:
I also have a cold and a thrush on my tongue what do you think i should do?

Answers:
First of all you didnt say if this was all personal diagnosis or if you have already been to see a doctor.

First of all, putting the white bump aside, i'd be a bit more concerned on thrush on your tongue. Thrush does not normally appear in the mouth in healthy adults and usually there is an underlying condition to predispose you towards it. Have you been on long-standing antibiotic therapy or chemotherapy? Have you been using steroid inhalers for asthma more often then usual? Have you started using dentures? If the answer to these is no i suggest you consult a doctor and get some blood tests done. Do not be alarmed, it could be simply a vitamin deficiency or the onset of diabetes but prevention is so much better then cure :)

Coming to the bump on the tonsil, this could simply be a exudation of pus from the tonsil. Do you have a sore throat? Tonsillitis is very common in "colds".

There is a possibility of infectious mononucleosis but in this case the symptoms would be much more severe then a simple cold and you would probably already have been to the doctor.

If you have had a cold and a sore throat for a long time there is also the possibility of a quincy, an abscess on the tonsil. However you would be very ill in this case too with very high fever.

Hope you get well soon. I would advise you to get a check-up from your gp at least, just to put your mind at rest. Best of luck and take care :)
Is your throat sore? I still have my tonsils and i use to get tonsillitis all the time and there would be white bumps on my tonsils...............go to the doctor!! Good luck!!!!!!!!!
