You have to specifically request an HIV test. A normal blood screening test does NOT check for HIV
Other Answers:
NO IT HAS TO BE A HIV TEST... NOW THEY HAVE A RAPID ONE.. ITS REALLY FAST...WHILE UR AT IT GET A STD 1 2.
Talk to a doctor, and he/she will give you one. And, I believe, it is kept confidential. It may not be if you are underage.
yes a blood test will show HIV / AIDS, when I got mine done this year I had to sign some papers I don't know if that is normal but this is the first one I had done. You should be checked for ALL S.T.D.'s you need to know and so does your partner.
You tell the doctor up front that you need an AIDS test they now which one to preform. It could take any where from 6 months to a year for the symptoms to show up. Good Luck!!!
yes, ask for HIV ELISA at any dianostic centre, cost Rs 400 in INDIA. done twice at 3 months intervel will detect HIV in almost all patients. and if negative both times then completely rules out HIV.
there is a blood test designed to detect hiv. i would check with your local clinic/ your doctor if you are concerned and have it done. take care
Yes, blood test for HIV can detect it. Three elisa testing with different antigens or two elisa testing with different antigens and one western blot testing may give you the result. You have to give blood for only once. You should contact a nearby Voluntary testing and Counselling Centre (VCTC) and request them that you have come for testing the HIV; that will do.
I am not sure. Best to get an HIV test specifically.
A test for the human immunodeficiency virus, the cause of AIDS. HIV tests are designed to detect antibodies to the HIV virus or the HIV virus itself.
The antibody tests are:
ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) -- a screening test used to detect infection with HIV. If positive, the ELISA test is usually repeated.
Western blot -- a test usually used to confirm the results of an ELISA. It can rule out a false-positive by distinguishing HIV antibodies from other antibodies that may react to the ELISA.
IFA (indirect fluorescent antibody) -- a test used like the less expensive Western blot to confirm the results of an ELISA.
The premiere test that can identifies the genetic material, the RNA, of the HIV virus is called PCR (the polymerase chain reaction). PCR can detect an early HIV infection before antibodies are evident and determine whether a baby born to an HIV-positive mother will have HIV. A test similar to PCR testing, called the branched DNA test, also detects the RNA of HIV. just ask the doctor for a hiv test...
a simple blood would do
