HAHA! I just posted a similar question!! Sorry, not laughing at you! I definitely have the same thing going on. The frustrating part is I work in the healthcare field and I can't figure out what is going on. There is a condition called Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction which is a spasm of the opening of the bile duct into the small intestine. The problem with this is that doctors don't really believe there is such a condition and the testing for it (ERCP) can often times cause pancreatitis. I was under treatment at The Cleveland Clinic for about 6 months, but I am relocating to another large city for a job and I may look there for a specialist. I have been told this is Irritable Bowel Syndrome, but knowing a lot about medicine, I know it's not. I will not stop looking until someone figures out what this pain is. I encourgae you to do the same. Don't give up. We'll find an answer. E-mail me if you want to talk about this issue more! I wold love to get a little support group type thing going. Let me know.

My mother, grandmother, and oldest sister have all had their gallbladders removed, and all complain of the same thing.

Moms was done over 20 years ago.

Don't know what causes it. Sorry that I can't help you more, but I thought if nothing else, it would help you to know you're not alone with that.

You may still have stones in the duct. Check with your Dr. Talk to your doctor. I had mine removed and have never had any more problem. Your doctor will want to know I'm sure.

I had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago and I have not been having any pains. I have several family members that have had it removed as well and some of them still have problems with sharp pains but mainly heartburn is the problem. Just stay away from fatty foods it will help.

I had mine removed about 4 years ago and have mo problems, however I do notice a bit of pain in that area if I eat a large amount of greasy foods or things that take a lot of the acids to digest, watch your diet and check with your doctor!

Consider the fact that like me you may have a duodenal ulcer as a result of having gallbladder problems for a while,,, if tums or mylanta help when you have the pain,, there could be your answer.
Best wishes.
