Can a person be allergic to his new glasses?

Question:

Answers:
You have not specified the kind of problem you are having with your glasses . You have just mentioned allergy , well it depends on what kind of material your frame is made of if it is made of metal or a material to which your skin is sensitive so in this case the suggestion is you should have a change of the frame .
In case you are having problem with vision that is there is watery discharge from the eye or irritation of the eye then it may be due to faulty prescribed glasses so in that case the suggestion will be that you should consult a ophthalmologist .

Other Answers:
I suppose you could be allergic to whatever the frames are made out of. If you're getting a rash where the glasses are touching your skin, then that would be suggestive of a contact allergy to the plastics in the frames. But they wouldn't be making you sneeze, or anything like that.

Maybe not allergic but maybe the metal of the frames can cause a skin irritation. you could be allergic to the metal thats in your glasses, my grandma cant wear earings becuase she's allergic to the metal

only if he or she is allergic to the material they are made from. Other than that its all in your head.

I would have to say yes if you are refering to an out break on the face or anywhere that the glasses may touch the skin. I know that from previous experience that some wire frame glasses tend to cause me to break out in acne due to the elements in the metal. I would suggest taking benedryl as well as putting clear finger nail polish on the frames. Or you may do as I have done in recent years that is to get a set of rimless frames. My glasses do not have rims on the bottom of the lenses and this has helped greatly! I still break out from time to time near my temples but since I am female and I have long hair I can use my hair as a boundry between my glasses and my skin. I hope that this information has helped you.
