Fungal infection of skin?

Question:
I have dark spots all over my trunk. my doctor says its fungus. it grows like hell in summers and also causes itching. My other sister also has same problem. Can anyone give a detail about this and why I suffer and not others, even when they use my clothes.

Answers:
The type of fungal infection you are talking about is caused by the fungus :Taenia Versicolor
This fungus grows very nicely in hot and humid environment, as you mentioned it grows like hell in summer.
It may or may not cause itiching.
It is contigious yes, but is particularly common in people with low immunity. As a rule this fungus is found on the skin of most of people, where it exists as the normal flora of skin. If however, the power of the fungus to cause infection increases more than the defense mechanism of the body then the spots can appear.
Cosmetically they don't look good so one should better get rid of them.
There are two ways for that, either use a topical creame (broad spectrum antifungal) or take antifungal drug course.

Both have their merits and demerits.
For creame on has to apply it daily all over and then wash it later.
For the drug, it may cause some side effect on liver, but it rescues one from the task of applying the creame to the body.

i use to have that problem on my thighs.if you take baths in public places like a gym.yes fungle bacteria can cause that.

Most of the time, the fungus is tinea or ringworm. But there can be other fungal infections.

Now, the thing about fungus is that it is a living organism, like a bacteria or a human being. While bacteria can be killed by antibiotics, fungus has DNA more like human dna and it's hard to kill. Bacteria dna is different enough that antibiotics can take care of them easily. But not fungus! So that's why fingernail fungus is hard to get rid of, so is tinea (ringworm) and if you should get a fungal infection INSIDE your body (lungs, brain, etc) it is really serious.

On the skin, you can use a number of drugs prescribed by the doctor and there are some oral drugs that can also be used depending on what the doctor recommends for you.

If you want a natural remedy, you can try washing your clothes in hot water with detergent. Or throw out old clothes you wear too often. Sometimes, wearing clothes with synthetic fiber contributes to this or old moldy clothes not washed frequently enough. You can try switching to organic cotton washed in hot water. If you buy cotton clothes, buy them larger than you wear because they will shrink in hot water. If you wear tee-shirts under your work shirts, buy white ones, wash them in hot water and bleach them. Buy only 100 percent cotton.

You should get as much as fresh air as possible. Drink plenty of water, and take bath twice daily. Coconut oil may be applied on the affected part, sun bathing is also beneficial.

Use good hand washing technique .

Prohibit sharing of personal items, such as hair care articles, towels and clothing.

Dry skin thoroughly after washing.

Wash bathroom surfaces and toys daily.

I agree it sounds like Tinea Versicolor. Get some Nizoral shampoo and apply it all over the affected areas like a lotion, then take a shower. If you do this regularly it should kill the fungus. You may need to do this all over again from time to time because the fungus likes to come back.

It is not a serious condition but can be annoying.

I have had this problem also, under my breasts and my thigh area and i used the same cream recommended for athelete's feet. Also, Blue Star ointment, it burnt at 1st but cleared up quickly, and yes, it does come back.
