Whenever I'm getting a chest infection, I eat A LOT of hot peppers. As much as I can stand. The heat from the inside burns the congestion out of my lungs, and makes it easier to breathe. I've never had to do this for more than two days.
Try mangosteen juice it is a natural juice known to help in all different types of medical situations from a common cold to arthritis to cancer. Just do some research on line to find out more.......
Try getting some eucalyptis(spelling) oil, and putting it on a hot rag and breathing in the steam. Peppermint tea might help, Vicks vapor rub, or othe products like that. Hope you fell better soon!

Do not drink milk. Cow's milk is harmful to us. If you must drink milk then use soy. Soy contains the same amount of vitamins and minerals as cow's milk. Milk is the major cause of respiratory problems, runny nose etc...
I work in respiratory medicine, and I have never heard of the term "teachers infection". There are numerous causes for the symptoms you are describing--fever, sore throat, cough, burning chest. The most common is a virus, which is likely to run its course but make you feel miserable in the interim. This is probably what you have if the doctor told you it is "immune to antibiotics", which really just means anitbiotics are effective against bacterial infections, not viral. The best thing for a viral infection is plenty of rest, to allow the body to fight it off naturally, drink lots of fluids, and avoid things that will aggravate your condition, especially cigarette smoke. Tylenol, Motrin, Advil, etc., will help with the discomfort, aches and pains. A humidifier may help with congestion, stuffy nose, etc. Green tea is also an excellent choice for maintaining adequate hydration. IF you have tightness in your chest, wheezing, or excessive coughing, you made need a prescription bronchodilator or MDI such as Albuterol, or possibly even oral steroids, such as prednisone. See your doctor again if you develop such symptoms. Also, consider OTC medications that contain guaifenesin (for congestion) and dextromethorphan (for cough suppresion).
