Does anyone know of someone who has been cured of cancer without it ever coming back?

Question:

My 27-year-old son has bone cancer in his knee. It hasn't spread anywhere else, but is in the intermediate stage in his knee only. He is undergoing chemotherapy and will have to have a total knee replacement. Seems like most people who are cured of cancer end up getting it again later on. Do you know of anyone who didn't? We're hoping he will be cured for life.

My mother had both breast cancer and ovarian cancer, and has been cancer-free for 22 years so far........it can certainly be treated and not return, but each case is completely unique and there is no way to generalize from one person to the next.

I just know of one lady who had lung cancer. surprisingly she hasn't had a recurrence yet. If you are cancer free for 5 years they consider you are in remission.
