The cost may be your life. Unprotected sex is a really bad idea. Herpes and HIV are both not able to be cured. Herpes makes it easier to get HIV which turns into AIDS. I saw herpes eat a guys brain when he caught HIV virus from unprotected sex. If you think you have and std go to the nearest clinic and get treatment. Most cities have free clinics for this. Don't be stupid, get checked out if you think there is a problem.
