I have just been Diagnosis. with TB. The doctor the health department has taken 4 weeks and counting for med?

Four weeks ago I had a TB test that came out positive. I was sent to a specialist whom reported me being a dormate type for now. She told the doctor to have me come in on Wed. I followed up as directed. I met with a nurse and she explained they do not look for the person I contracted this virus from unless I can provide a name and have to be positive they have it. What is wrong with this system ? Clearly a person is walking around our community with this and is infecting others. I have a list of all client and contact person's I have worked with. they wish to know nothing..... Anyway, It is now four weeks later and I have left at least 10 message's on the nurse's answering machine. Have not got a call back to see when I am to start medications. I have been thinking about of two outlets. One is the county newspaper, second writing a complaint to the Maryland Health and Hygeine Departmet. What would you suggest.if you were in this situation?

This answer is in response to your question posted about your diagnosis of tuberculosis.
I am very surprised that the Public Health Department is not all over this one like flies on %&#@.
If your skin test was positive, then what happens next is that you go and get a Chest X-ray. If that is positive then, depending on your age, you must get started on a tuberculosis fighting regimen. Usually, it is INH and Vitamin B6. When I said depending on your age, it is recommended that people under the age of 35 get this treatment and those over 35 just get a chest x-ray every 5 years. This is due in part because the anti-tuberculosis medication can very rough on your liver and nervous system. That is why they insist on giving you Vitamin B6 along with the INH. It helps keep you from getting peripheral neuropathy, a disease that can be quite painful (It is like when your foot falls asleep and when it just starts to wake up, that pins and needles, prickly feeling but it is on your arms and legs all up and down). Tuberculosis is a bacteria not a virus. There is absolutely no way you can tell who you got it from. The bacteria is spread through respiratory droplets. All it takes is one person sneezing or coughing and the air around them is saturated with little tiny droplets filled with the bacteria. It is seen more often in crowded places like hospitals, mental wards, prisons, and just about anywhere there is overcrowding of people. The problem with TB now is that there are more and more strains of it that are resistant to our current regimen of antibiotics.
It would be in yours and everyone elses best interest to report this incident to the Maryland Department of Public Health. It is absolutely negligent that this person has not returned your phone calls. If you need to be treated and/or isolated, it needs to be done as soon as possible. So get on the bandwagon and report this immediately.

Its only TB. There are treamtments - although no absolute cures. Most of the time, TB will remain dormant. When it becomes active, stay away from others, for their sake. Suffer on your own, or in a hospital.

They certainly don't seem too concerned. Go to another doctor, get some antibiotics, as you can die from this condition, Then find a HOLISTIC practioner. I am sorry, but your grammar and spelling are absolutely atrocious! I would stop worrying about who gave it to you, and start worrying about those who you may have infected. Try contacting them! The majority of people, who have contracted TB, acquired it in a closed and poorly ventilated environment (i.e. hospitals, jails, and other such institutions). So, in all actuality, you could have picked-up this disease from someone you do not even know.
