fuzzy looking growth on toe?

Question:
My friends little boy has a fuzzy looking growth on his pinky toe, it freaked me out when i saw it. It is white with small black spots in it like a fuzzy mold or something. It really looks FUZZY.Do you have any idea what it may be and what to do until she can get him in to see his dr monday?

Answers:
It could be either a wart or a fungal infection -- neither one is life-threatening. Definitely get it checked out, but don't spend the weekend worrying about it too much.

Other Answers:
It's a fungal infection - use an Over the counter fungacide to treat. If it gets worse take him to a pediatrician or dermatologist.
Could be toe fungus? Pills range from 300.00 and up and aren`t GUARANTEED to work... If its what i have then it will spread to other toes and its definitely a family 'trait"... Vicks vapor rub "helps", but, you have to put it under the nail. OUCH!!
See the doc to find out for sure.
IT SOUNDS LIKE FUNGUS. LEAVE IT ALONE UNTIL U SEE TH DOC, IT HAS GONE THIS LONG.
