i have it and i get dizzy and it feel as if i loss my balance for a few seconds. am i stuck with this disease forever. p.s i am takinn meds but it don't do much

well VERTIGO is a symptom not a disease it is usually caused by an imbalance in the inner ear.

Before you can treat that, you have to find out what is causing it, it could be anything as simple as an ear infection.. go get it checked out

Vertigo is a sensation you feel when your optical and vestibulocochlear systems miscommunicate information to your brain. That is, they send your brain conflicting information. The condition is usually the result of a certian type of movement but can also occur for other reasons. It is highly treatable, however. I would suggest you try some dramamine or meclizine over the counter. If those are ineffctive, you might seek your physicians advice for further treatment. Be advised that the medications I suggested will cause a good deal of drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery after taking them.

It is most important to evaluate the vertigo to determine if it is, indeed, related to your inner ear. Not all balance disorders are caused by inner ear pathology.
