What do you find is most comforting (females) when you have a herpes outbreak?

Question:
Do you know of anything that would soothe you faster than taking the pills for the treatment?

Answers:
When I have outbreaks I usually take a lot of baths. It's the only thing that really helps me. I also wear really loose pants, like some pj pants or something and some nice soft cotton underwear. I rest a lot too, and try not to do anything too physical. There isn't very much you can do to make them go away faster. Just take your medication and they should clear up in a week or so.

I personally only take the medication when I feel an outbreak coming on; I don't take it everyday like so people do. About half of the people who have recurrent outbreaks of genital herpes feel an outbreak coming a few hours to a couple of days before it happens. They may feel tingling, burning, itching, numbness, tenderness, or pain where the blisters are going to appear. This is called the prodrome.

Also, the longer a person has herpes the less outbreaks they will have. I have had genital herpes for 5 years now and the last outbreak I had was over a year and a half ago, and that's without taking the medication every day.

Other Answers:
Nice name, could be why you have herpes in the first place.
loose fitting clothing is a way to decrease the pain from friction, but it is very important to start the medication at the very onset of a break out, the first tingle, itch, pain, bump etc. etc. the sooner you start treatment with the out break the shorter they last --if you seem to have frequent out breaks you may want to see your doc to put you on suppressive therapy with Valtrex 1 gram caplets every day. Help to lessen the # of out breaks people have and decrease the length of the out breaks. Good luck.
a close girl friend of mine went through agony with hers, it is mostly induced when you are stressed or run down, so try and keep healthy and active.

having a warm bath can help ease the pain, specially when urinating.

8 in 10 people have herpes simplex 1 (coldsores), and 4 in ten have herpes simplex 2 (genital herpes), so stuff what people said before, you can get genital herpes from not even having sexual inercourse, rubbin skin, oral sex from a person with a coldsore which isnt visible, or is visible.

hope u feel better babe.

;)
you put me down for a crazy question about condoms but i aint never gotten herpes. hmm.guessing you shoulda knew more about condoms before you played. and i should take your advise. i think not.
Hello,

I have created a page about genital herpes pain relief. I feel it is as good for men as for women. http://www.best-herpes-treatments.com/genital-herpes-pain-relief.html
You may also want to change your diet and increase your intake of zinc, vitamin A and E. I've taken herpes drugs before but I feel essential oils work really well and much faster than herpes drugs if not taken as suppressive therapy. That's why I often recommend essential oil blends for herpes.

Cheers,

Nathalie
