are there anyone out there that has Tourette syndrome?

Question: i have TS and I hate to go out in public, yesterday my husband took me to dinner, I was vocally grunting, which is out of my control. I was embressed. Do these things bother anyone else with TS. I feel alone with this porblem. How do you cope in public?
Does this bother other people that don't have this problem to see it? I just want some answers, please!

I do not have it, but, people that do don't bother me. i would hope they wouldn't bother anyone, seeing as it is out of your control. i wish you luck with your coping and please don't be embarassed. everyone is different in there own way and you have nothing to feel ashamed or embarassed about.

I have a very mild case. My therapist said it sometimes goes along with having adhd. I had my adhd treated with a biofeedback procedure which had originally been developed by the air force to help their pilots be more alert. It has cured people with Tourettes syndrome. Check under biofeedback in the yellow pages. sometimes insurance will cover it. I think that some of these computer based biofeedback programs are now available to buy online and use on your home computer. Good Luck
