What can you do with associates degree in respiratory therapy?

Can you work in the hospital enviornment?

Can you have patient interaction?

How is the salary?

you can do the same as a RRT in most states and they pay about 17.00 starting out...the demand is there so u will not have any problems weekends usualy are 5.00 more per hr. in most places...

You can work in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, home health agencies. Some larger facilities may require a bachelor's degree but they may give you a span of time to earn it. The hospital that I used to work at, the resp therapists started out at about $15/hr, but that was also a 300 bed hospital and several yrs ago. I'm sure the pay as well as the demand is higher now. Larger cities pay more and some with sign on bonuses.
Patient interaction? You gotta have someone to take care of from breathing treatments, O2 setups and checkups, to ABG's, to PFT's, ventilator care, etc.

its intensive 2 year training. when done salaries range from $40K per year to over $100K. work areas are mostly hospital with every day patient contact. however there are other areas to work in and specialty areas at that. much work now and in the future.
