the most common side effect of interferon is flu like symptoms. Some people report them to debilitating but most people find it to be a nuances

there are many side effects that can go with a course of interferon, but chances are they will be more mild than anything-like flu symptoms an occassional headache, however, it can make you sick if you accedently administer it in the vein so always pull back on that syringe before giving yourself a shot.
some of the more severe sides are psychosis, but if taking it for liver disease, i believe that once you lose weight (if at all) they will adjust the doseage so the chances of it happening will be greatly reduced.

i might also say that there are many available drugs out there to help counteract the side effects from interferon.

I was a lucky one on treatment for HCV....I actually felt better on the medication (but also real tired). I also recommend you drink lots of water (as close to a gallon a day) as that will help and has helped thousands with the lessoning of sides. Infact, in most that is what made treatment a piece of cake!
