A lot of stupid answers. Ignore them all apart from the one to try Imodium. That is OK in the short term. If you've had this a long time. Then it could be a lot of things. You need to get it under control and then see a specialist to determine the cause. Try codeine phosphate - ask your doctor for it. The maximum dose is 240 mg in 24 hours. You can take codeine phosphate and imodium. Imodium is in 2 mg tablets and you can take up to 8 in 24 hours. If it goes better when you are asleep and doesn't wake you - it probably stress related. If it wakes you - it may be an infection - get an antibiotic from your doctor - a good broad spectrum antibiotic is Ciproxin. You should sent a "sample" to pathology at the hospital for them to identify the infection and tell you which antibiotic is the best. But That usually takes bloody ages - so you might as well assume it's probably camplobacter and take Ciproxin! If you are getting a lot of abdominal pain too an antispasmodic will help like hyoscine butylbromide - start with 10mg tds ( 3 times a day ) then 20mg tds after you have got used to them. Obviously, if it's bad drink plenty of fluids. You can also get re-hydration sachets of salts - but you probably don't need that unless you've had diarrhoea for some time. One last thing - don't eat anything you think is upsetting you! Fried food, greasy food and milk are the usual suspects.
there are tablets you can take and also remember to drink lots i know that it can make you dehidrated! sorry about my spelling
