Are you sure it isn't warts? I know my son had a wart like condition on his tummy, and the doc said it was a virus and it should go away in a few months. They went away eventually.
A friend of mine's son had this over his elbows. It was a virus. It went eventually, but took a while. It didn't bother him though.

To remove warts, take equal quantity of washing soda and lime (used for white wash). Mix them well with little water and apply on warts with a match stick for 4 to 5 days. The warts will vanish. This is a tried method.
Warts are caused by a strain of the human papilloma virus. HPV strains 14 and 16 cause cervical cancer and are STDs, but other strains are not STDs and cause common warts or plantar warts. They will go away eventually, or you can speed the process by any number of methods. I personally recommend putting vitamin A directly on the wart, or taping a piece of vitamin C on the wart at night as that worked for me.
Please see the webpage for more details on Warts.
