Geez, you need to ask your cardiologist about this. What is your ejection fraction? What is the cause of the blockage? What is your current activity level? I am sure he will tell you that you need to have a stress test if you haven't had one already.

On the other hand, if it is safe to exercise at all, the *best* place to start is with a cardiac rehabilitation program run by a hospital. If you live in or near a major city, there is certainly at least one such program in your, and maybe several. Ask your doctor.

Cardiac rehab has you exercise--on a treadmill for example--while you are connected (wirelessly) to a heart monitor that is watched by a nurse. The nurse can tell immediately if you even start to get into trouble. I cannot emphasize how much confidence it gave me after heart surgery. I was so nervous at first about going out to walk on my own. But this way, I could push myself a little without any worry. If I had a problem, they would see it probably even before I felt it. And if something really bad happened, I was right there in the hospital.

Most insurance will pay for the cost of cardiac rehab, usually with a time limit of 3 months (assuming 3 visits per week). It saved my life, and I'm sure that if you can exercise at all, this is the best way to get your life back. Best of luck!!

Without more knowledge of what is wrong with you to cause the arteries to stop functioning and where these arteries are located no one could answer the question.

I presume you are talking about the arteries to your heart, in which case it is imperative that you consult a doctor and YES its would be better for you not to undertake strenuous exercise and other activities that might put you under stress.
